The Versatile One: Plum Kasundi is the OG, the chutney we were making for years that got requests from friends and family all the time for a jar to take home.
So what is kasundi? Kasundi is a traditional bengali mustard sauce featuring fermented mustard seeds and spices. You might have seen tomato or aubergine kasundi around. In our version we reduced the intensity of the mustard slightly and boosted the aromatic profile with ginger, garlic, turmeric, coriandor, cumin and chilli. We love the kasundi with plums as they lend such a rich and tangy flavour profile.
This kasundi is guaranteed to become so beloved in your kitchen pantry you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. We use it for absolutely everything - a marinade on protein or roast vegetables, a flavour base for a simmer sauce or gentle curry, as a flavour boost for homemade focaccia or pizza, as a salad dressing or to jazz up a lunchtime sandwich or salad. It also makes for a great accompaniment for a cheeseboard.
Common questions:
How do I store my plum kasundi?
This is an ambient product and prefers a cool, dark shelf. Once opened, store below 5C in the fridge and consume within 1 month (if they last that long!).
What's the minimum shelf-life I'll receive?
The minimum shelf life we sell our products with is one month, though the average on dispatch is 3-4 months. If you have a specific shelf-life requirement include a note in your order and we'll do our best to meet this.
